RN/6N PER DIEM Department: 6N - Surgical Cardiac/Telemetry Unit (33 Beds) Schedule: per diem Shift: Day Hours: 6:45a-7:15p w/every other weekend and Occasional Weekend Shifts Job Details: - 2 years of formal education beyond HS or Associates degree TheRegistered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure for post open heart/thoracotomy and cardio surgical patients. Provides direct nursing care to patients. Assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities. Participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities. Needs minimal supervision.Patient assessment: use of full data base lab results and progress notes.Monitoring skills: show competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and pulse oximetery.Invasive CVL lines: maintenance, usage, and appropriate care. Safe use, knowledge, and troubleshooting of equipment specific to assigned telemetry area. Coordinate Safe administration of care medication: indications, monitoring, and side effects. Patients on this floor are post open heart/thoracotomy and cardio surgical patients. * Must maintain ACLS certification. * Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. * Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
