Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Store Systems Engineer is to provide level 3 support of the store applications environment and implement continuous service improvement opportunities. The position will be involved with all aspects of systems engineering including: deploying, configuring, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting server and application related issues. Involvement in project-oriented tasks, planning and designing of new systems within the infrastructure, and providing guidance and assistance to less experienced application engineers is expected. The Candidate is expected to have advanced server and application troubleshooting skills in a Windows Server environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
&#xxxx; Minimum 7 years of IT experience supporting retail specific technologies in an enterprise class environment
&#xxxx; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
&#xxxx; Must be customer focused, dependable and possess strong interpersonal skills
&#xxxx; Have a strong interest and ability to learn new technologies and assimilate new information
&#xxxx; Possess effective analytical skills and be able deal effectively with ambiguity
&#xxxx; Results orientated, self-motivated and can work independently
&#xxxx; Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate with other internal technology teams and external business partners
&#xxxx; Able to manage and drive problem resolution in a multi-vendor, complex enterprise environment
&#xxxx; Solid knowledge of industry best practices and technical systems
&#xxxx; Excellent written and verbal communications skills
&#xxxx; Must have a high level of technical knowledge and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
&#xxxx; Strong knowledge of networking topology and connectivity in an enterprise environment
Required Skills
Must have expert level technical knowledge and extensive hands on experience administering Windows Server Technologies including:
&#xxxx; Windows Server xxxx , xxxx, xxxx
&#xxxx; Active Directory and Group Policy
&#xxxx; Windows Clustering
Must have solid understanding of the following key technologies:
&#xxxx; Networking
&#xxxx; TCP/IP
&#xxxx; DNS
&#xxxx; IIS
&#xxxx; Apache Tomcat
&#xxxx; SQL scripting
&#xxxx; Application and OS tuning
&#xxxx; Administrative scripting: VBscript, Powershell
Proficiency in the following areas is desired:
&#xxxx; Layer 7 load balancing
&#xxxx; SCCM
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Store Systems Engineer, you will perform the following essential functions…
&#xxxx; Design, install, configure, and maintain and upgrade store systems hardware, software, servers and applications
&#xxxx; Provide level 3 support in a diverse tier 1 application environment
&#xxxx; Create and maintain clear systems, process and support documentation for used for training and knowledge transfer to the tier 1 and 2 support teams
&#xxxx; Ensure consistent and standardized server/POS images are maintained and deployed
&#xxxx; Ensure tickets requests are handled appropriately within the SLA's
&#xxxx; Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours support on-call production support on a rotating schedule
