Description
This is a professional, responsible position that plays an integral role in providing expertise and college-wide consulting services in the analysis, development and delivery of enterprise web applications and processes. Responsibilities for this position include the development and maintenance of the college web applications and website, as well as providing high quality organizational services to support and enhance the Colleges internal and external web presence.
General Responsibilities:
Serves as the collaborator and layout designer for departments and institutional teams; coordinates the content and organization of data.
Explores the cultural, technical, and functional conditions to assess the unique needs of internal clients; researches, recommends designs and implements new technologies which may include enterprise applications, enhanced services, and third-party systems or services to satisfy the Colleges web presence.
Maintains, updates and documents institutional web pages on a regular basis according to College specifications based on client requests; reviews institutional pages for mistakes or necessary changes.
Analyzes traffic to website and recommends necessary programming changes; manages transfer of files and memory allocation for website on the server; creates automatic systems of data and content storage on website.
Provides technical support to departments and employees; creates, delivers and manages website development training.
Responsible for the branding and layout of the Enterprise Application Web Apps.
Works with networking to maintain current full backup and mirror of primary website for redundancy and disaster recovery purposes; maintains security patches and updates on all web applications, web server software, and related database software on all College websites.
Implements time-sensitive updates to institutional website information from numerous departments.
Develops dynamic, web based database driven applications that integrate with College enterprise applications, services and third-party systems and services (e.g., FACTS.org).
Creates complex web applications to support the ongoing business processes.
Assists in building the web applications to complement the applications built by the Application Development area within Information Technology keeping in mind best practices for user interfaces.
Designs, implements and maintains College Mobile Application.
Designs and maintains SQL databases relating to web applications.
Analyzes the security of the web and ensures the reliability of web servers and sites.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff. Plans and conducts regular staff meetings. Ensures staff receives on-going, documented training on relevant areas of technology.
Provides and maintains cellular telephone and high-speed internet technology services, which allows immediate accessibility to the College through text and voice messages by cellular phone, and responds as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in computer science or a related field and four (4) years of full-time professional work experience in web design and web applications development.
Full-time professional work experience in a related functional area may be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge and experience with HTML, PHP, including templates, SQL and web design tools.
Working knowledge of web graphics creation and manipulation optimized for palette, size, and speed of download.
Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer and software such as web development software (e.g., Macromedia Dreamweaver), image editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks) and authoring software (e.g., Macromedia Flash).
Knowledge and experience of one or more of these: Adobe, streaming media technology, Javascript, Apache, web conferencing tools, streaming live or on-demand events, mySQL, Perl, Java Servlets, ASP, PHP, XML, DHTML, JSP.
Analog and digital multimedia production experience.
Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail.

Physical: Routinely requires the ability to see, hear, and speak. Routinely requires sitting, bending, stooping, walking. On occasion, incumbents may be required to lift 20 or more pounds.
