NewsBank, Inc. is seeking a front:end web developer to bring new and creative solutions to our marketing websites by supporting our design and site:building principles: compliance, configuration, usability, creativity and scalability. Both freelance and part:time, in:house candidates will be considered. A thorough, working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Javascript or other web:based programming languages is required. This position will consist of implementing, designing and maintaining solutions for layered corporate websites serving multiple markets. Proven experience maintaining Drupal technology and implementing best website:building practices are required.Candidates must be able to: Perform site:building activities, including creating, modifying and maintaining content types, blocks, views, and module configuration.Create custom designs and layouts for web and portal projects.Provide CMS web/portal support in assigning users, maintaining directories, providing content support and troubleshooting usability issues.Provide expertise in user experience and web theming.Assist in training of faculty, students, and staff regarding best web and portal practices.Create user instructional guides and technical manuals as it relates to web and portal projectsmunicate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure quality and performance of web and portal systems are being met.Monitor existing applications for adherence to strict security guidelines.Configure, test and maintain installed modules for the Drupal platform.Evaluate designs and wireframes for potential usability issues.Install, assign and maintain multiple sites and blogs within existing CMS environment.Serve as an internal Drupal and Web support agent, providing assistance with the creation, content, support and maintenance of existing/newly planned Drupal web initiatives.Modify Excel:based email lists and load said lists into our email marketing tool (Silverpop)Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements: Bachelors degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of experience and education required.5+ years of advanced HTML/CSS.3+ years of JavaScript, (jQuery) development.2+ years of CMS experience including advanced theming.Provide a portfolio of graphic design and web projects.Experience implementing, configuring and/or maintaining contributed modules/plugins to extend functionality on CMS web sites/portals.Experience with Photoshop and InDesign.Self:motivated, can work independently in facilitating projects from the conceptual stages to launch.Ability to accurately estimate work required for web projects/tasks.Ability to complete multiple projects under fast:paced deadlines.Experience in providing support for enterprise level CMS systems, preferably Drupal.A pleasant personality consistent with the mission of a service:oriented unit.Desired Skills: Advanced Drupal 7 site building skills.Experience with DrupalA?s Hook API.Experience with advanced Drupal tools such as, Views, CTools, and/or Panels.Active member of the Drupal community and attentive to module/core releases.Advanced understanding of marketing personalization, Google Analytics and internal site performance measurements.Working knowledge PHP, Python, XML/XSLT, HTML5, Django, JavaScript, CSS, Perl and SQL.The latest HTML 5 and CSS 3 experience.jQuery and/or Bootstrap experience.Custom Theming/CSS experience.Responsive web design/development experience.LAMP/MAMP environment administration experience.Understanding of Git and version control and source code management (SCM) systems.Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology.EEO Minorities/Women/Disabled/Veterans : VEVRAA Federal Contractor
